Re: Render to Scaleable Graphic Format?

Hi. If it's to use in web material you have the option to embed an html5 player that actually does exactly that: render to scaleable (canvas) format: https://github.com/haramanai/easelSif (discussed at http://www.synfig.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3835). swf & svg generation have been dis...

Re: Shoes for Running Animation

You can always look at available vector art that can readily be imported in synfig at https://openclipart.org/search/?query=shoe Adding some rotate/swirl/distort is often enough to achieve good & simple visual animation. I quite like https://openclipart.org/detail/82657/zapatoten https://opencli...

what lib/framework should I use for Python GUI in Synfig?

Hello. What graphical toolkit/librairy should I use to develop a GUI for a script in Synfig? Is there any already built in? Former experience with Tkinter led me to experience problems dependencies in MacOS/X, but I'd like the GUI to work with all systems supported by Synfig. Aside from (not) that I...

Interest for a generic template (layer generation) engine?

Hello. I recently updated a script to generate layers from external (~spreadsheet) data and templates (sif edited to contain some placeholder-variables). It is currently "tuned" to generate (animated) text from subtitles files... but could as well generate any other type of layer (or compl...

Re: plugin to import keyframes - audio synchronisation

the same plugin now allows to generate text objects on top of the importing keyframes... if you ever wanted to import and/or animate subtitles, for instance.

Re: Typography and Motion Graphics tools

Added a short video demonstrating some effects provided by the Synfig Import Labels plugin:

(is there a way to embed the video in this page so that it shows a video player instead of link only?)

Re: Typography and Motion Graphics tools

On the same topic there's now a Synfig Import Labels plugin that allows to import text lines and their respective timings. The plugin can generate keyframes for you, and optionally a few animations of the provided texts or words (appearance, descend, flight, progressive reveal). New effects can be a...

Re: Script working from command line but not in Synfig... what difference?

Thanks Bob,
Porting the script code to Python 3 was indeed enough to make it all work as expected, and using 2to3 made that quite easy.

[fixed] Script working from command line but not in Synfig... what difference?

Hello. My script to generate kinetic typography is running fine from the command line but not when I call it from the Synfig Scripts Menu. Any idea where that may come frome? I guess it's a difference in python version or import path... but don't know how to check this, nor how to fix. The error I g...

Re: Motion Distortion Layers

Hello, I agree with tushantin that adding some variation in a transition is perfectly achievable in Synfig, but lacks a bit of user-friendliness. What I'd appreciate is if "convert > random" would use as "link" the (animated) current value node , that way I could simply animate t...

Re: Selecting multiple waypoints

That's exactly what I mean with the keyframes except for specific value nodes. It's good to have the feature for keyframes, but that affects the whole animation (all elements in it) whereas I'd like to be able to isolate a specific group of items to accelerate/decelerate. +1 I looked quickly at the...
