I'm finding it a little annoying that when I want to change a property that is being animated and I'm not in animation mode, I get two dialogs warning me instead of one.

The first dialog is helpful - it tells me something useful, that I should be in Animate Editing Mode.

The second dialog is useless - Unable to Set All Layer Parameters is something meaningless I don't care about.

Yes, it is obtrusive. Even the first dialog is. I would vote for a flashing message on the status bar telling that you're not in animation mode.
Also it could be good if it could change to animation mode automatically under user option on preferences.
