It looks nice and well described. Please add it to the Tutorials page once it is finished. I think you can label it as "Intermediate".

I'm finished now, except that there isn't a diagram comparing Straight and Composite blend modes.

Are you sure this belongs in Intermediate and not Basic category?

Well, you can place it where you want. It fits on late Basic or start Intermediate ;)
There is a video that shows all the blend methods:

It was used to check a bug with the straight method and the encapsulated layers. It is fixed since long time ago. :)
