What do I render my animation as if Im wanting to import it into a video editing software such as movie maker?

You should use the avi extension and select the ffmpeg target.

I do this and I render it to my Desktop but nothing appears, in Synfig it says render successful but I dont get anything although I have decided to render my animations as .png files and import them into Movie maker, thanks anyway. :)
